Hello Kitty

November 10th, 2008

This past weekend turned out to be quite interesting indeed. My Friend, Steve, asked if we wanted to have a wine and cheese party on Saturday night. Well, on Saturday morning, the whole lot of us ventured down to the Reading Terminal Market to pick up the needed items for the get together. My roommate an I picked up some needed produce for a corn chowder recipe that we found on-line, which turned out to be quite good, but needs some tweaking. I also picked up a country sourdough bread, and a couple of cheeses from a local cheese vendor.

The party was a lot of fun, and it was great to have everyone over to hang out and enjoy the chimenia and the hot tub. As we were lounging in the hot tub, we had another visitor — a stray kitten! We brought it in, warmed it, fed it some milk, and let it stay the night. I woke up Sunday morning to the sound of scratching. Upon looking for the source of the noise, I realized that the cat had dragged the remainder of the sourdough bread up the stairs and was trying to eat it under my dresser! I decided to go downstairs to see what else I could feed it, and I settled on an egg, which it ate promptly, then followed me upstairs and fell asleep on my other pillow on my bed.

I’m taking the cat to the vet tonight to make sure there’s nothing wrong with it. I also checked the local veterinary clinics and police offices to see if anyone has reported a missing cat/kitten, but it would appear that I have a new pet!
